Speed of Oceans

about

I remember making this one. It's been on my laptop for quite a while now, I'd say since 2019.

The reason I didn't release it sooner is because I struggled with the artwork. The artwork is a section of an abstract painting I made in a hotel room. I thought it encapsulated the ideas behind the track well.

On that note, 'Speed of Oceans' is a track that was heavily inspired by the sound of Weyes Blood's Titanic Rising. I wanted to create a track that sounded like it was recorded under water.

And at around the same time, I was also watching the amazing David Attenborough's Blue Planet II. I was in awe of the vastness of the oceans and how little we know about what is in them.

This album is as much an ode to the unknown as it is a nod to the strange beauty of nature.

As is fitting to the 'unknown', I can't quite remember where this was recorded, but I'm sure it was while I was studying my MSc in Edinburgh.
