The Passover

about

A song about love. Original idea, right?
It's about reaching the stage at the end of a relationship when your partner no longer loves you. The idea of 'passing over' has two meanings. It's the idea of love passing over a couple (instead of through them), as well as the death of love and romance.
I wrote this song sometime in the summer of 2020. I was going through something like this at the time.

Edit from May 2021: After this record was released, I thought I would end up releasing a rock/indie album with some of the songs I had written over the past few years. That didn't happen - it may happen someday, but not for the moment.

lyrics

Lyrics

You don’t know what love is
You don’t know what it feels like
You don’t know how it feels like
To see love pass before you.
You don’t know what it feels like.
You don’t know what it smells like

She is obscene.
She is obscene.
You were obscene.

She is obscene.
She is obscene.
You were obscene.

You don’t know what love is
You still don’t know what it feels like
No! You still don’t know how it felt like
To see you pass before me

I hope you never know what it feels like
To feel love glazing over
Like the eyes or a distant lover
Fading into darkness
