These are a collection of tracks I started working on in 2017 up until this year. They sum up the reason why I started making music in the first place.

For the past year, I had been generally gradually moving my music towards a more accessible sound (I was working towards releasing an singer-songwriter album). But I decided against that very recently.

To understand why, you need to understand my influences. When I started making music, I listened to a lot of 60s and 70s stuff - think The Beatles, David Bowie, Brian Eno, Frank Zappa, Talking Heads, CAN, Roxy Music and Jon Hassell to say the least. I loved the sonic and conceptual risks they took with their sound.

I'm also a huge fan of more contemporary artists like Death Grips, Jon Hopkins, William Basinski, Four Tet and others who have directly influenced my style. I think the influence of those acts bled into mad. scientist333, and its incorporation of multiple genres.

The reason for the title of this album is because it sums up my reason for making music. With this album, I wanted to bring back to life some of the experimentation, sonic risk-taking, spontaneity and primal energy you don't really hear as much of in popular music today.

As the covid pandemic ensued, making music became more of an escape from reality. This album became a protest against the mundanity of lockdowns and everyday life, and I wanted to illustrate that through taking my sound to an avant-garde direction (once again).

Locations of recordings: Athens, Greece. Istanbul, Turkey. London, England. Edinburgh, Scotland.
